What we do
Glen is a current PhD Candidate at La Trobe University, investigating combined treatments for plantar fasciitis (heel spurs). He has been awarded a La Trobe University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (LTUPRS) and a La Trobe Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Scholarship (LASER). He holds a Bachelor of Podiatry with First Class Honours from La Trobe University, with his Honours thesis investigating psychological factors associated with plantar fasciitis. Glen has previously completed a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in psychology from the University of Queensland.
Clinically, Glen enjoys all aspects of podiatric medicine, including orthotics, ingrown toenail surgery, diabetes assessment and management, paediatrics and dermatology. Glen has a specific interest in the management of musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries, particularly plantar fasciitis and heel pain.
Glen also works at La Trobe University teaching musculouskeletal pathology to 3rd year podiatry students, and is a Supervising Clinician to 3rd and 4th year podiatry students at the La Trobe University Podiatry Clinic. Glen has previous experience working with VFL clubs, and is a member of the Australasian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine (AAPSM) and Sports Medicine Australia (SMA).
Sophie has a Bachelor of Podiatry from La Trobe University. Since graduating, Sophie has developed her experience in a variety of settings including multidisciplinary family practices and a private podiatry clinic focussing on elite athletes. In addition, Sophie has been afforded the opportuinty to work alongside a Foot and Ankle Surgeon in Boulder, Colorado, where she gained invaluable experience conservatively managing patients to prevent surgery.
Sophie is a sub-elite long distance runner who regularly competes in State and National competitions. Over the last 10 years Sophie has been mentored by leading running coaches in Australia and the U.S. gaining an extensive knowledge of running technique and biomechanics. As a result, Sophie is well placed to provide high level advice regarding running technique and managing running related lower limb pathology. Sophie enjoys assisting athletes of all abilities to achieve their athletic goals by writing training programs to allow a smooth transition from injury to competition. Sophie motivates and guides people to live a healthy and active life, and manage foot injuries that may prevent this.
Sophie is interested in all areas of podiatry including musculoskeletal complaints of the lower limb and foot, orthotic therapy, biomechanical assessments, paediatric podiatry, assessment and management of diabetes related foot pathology, and managing nail and skin conditions.
Sophie is a member of the Australasian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine (AAPSM) and Sports Medicine Australia (SMA).
