Dr Sophie Mancey-Jones
I enjoy all aspects of women’s health and provide contraceptive advice and shared antenatal care at RWH and The Mercy. I also have an interest mental health and preventative medicine. I particularly enjoy the variety and challenges of general practice - getting to know my patients well and offering comprehensive and holistic continuity of care.
I completed my medical training in the UK in 1986 and went on to do GP training in London. I then fulfilled my lifelong dream of working in developing countries for a few years as a general medical officer in Africa and on the Thai-Burmese boarder. I returned to London and was very happy working for 10 years as a partner in a great GP practice in diverse and vibrant Brixton. However, after meeting my Australian husband and having two children we moved to Melbourne in 2008.
I have enjoyed getting to know one of the ‘most livable’ cities, making the most of the theatre, live music and arts - while also being able to enjoy the beautiful and accessible beaches and country of Victoria where we enjoy camping, bushwalking and cycling.
